RM INTERVIEW – DR VERA SATANKOVA, CHIEF PLASTIC SURGEON
Calm, always helpful and most of all very experienced – this is MUDr. Vera Satankova, a plastic surgeon who, during her career, gathered knowledge and experience at leading Czech clinics and also in important workplaces abroad, where she even lectured and worked as a consultant (e.g. USA). Do you want to know more about Dr Satankova? Let’s start with a short interview and then you may want to meet her in person…
What is the difference between the quality of the plastic surgery in the Czech Republic and in the world? How do we stand in that comparison?
I had the opportunity to work both in the Czech Republic and in the United States, so I can compare well. As far as medicine is concerned, we are at a very high level here. This is also due to the fact that our Czech doctors can travel, work abroad and therefore gain valuable experience worldwide. In my practice, I pay a lot of attention to what matters the most – that is, a friendly approach to the client with all dignity. Every client in our clinic has to be treated as the most important person. It is very important to give the client enough time, so he/she feels confident before the surgical procedure.
Which aspects should the client consider when deciding on a plastic surgery?
First and foremost, you must be convinced that you want the surgery. Subsequently, you must choose a doctor who has an excellent reputation and, last but not least, choose a clinic that maintains high professional standards, both in medical and client’s care.
What are the current trends?
Plastic surgery is constantly shifting and improving. New, more advanced devices such as liposuction ones are introduced to the market. New materials are also being developed, for example breast implants, where not only the surface but also the shapes are improved every year so that they fit to every body type. However, plastic surgery still remains primarily a manual work. The results depend on the doctor’s abilities and skills.
Summer is here – what procedures can be done in higher temperatures?
The main season for plastic surgery is from September to June. But even during the summer holidays you do not have to avoid corrective procedures. Summer is a time when you can send family members on holidays and have enough time for post-operative recovery.
Furthermore, there are non-invasive procedures that do not require postoperative resting. Such as performing plasmatherapy to improve quality of the skin, or Botox and dermal fillers to supress the dynamic facial wrinkles, wrinkles in décolleté and other parts of the body.
