Total Hip Replacement (THR) / Total Knee Replacement (TKR)
All joint replacement surgeries are provided by experienced Czech surgeons in Prague and other places in the Czech Republic. This major surgery is performed to improve walking and other movements and of course to relieve pain. You find a huge price advantage here compared to the other European countries. We are also able to provide you with the necessary documents (medical reports and bills) to claim the costs of the procedure on your local medical services provider, such as NHS.

The surgeon chooses from a variety of implants and surgical techniques, considering your age, weight, activity level, knee size and shape, and overall state of your health. Surgeons work only with implants with necessary certifications – e.g. Zimmer Biomet and Smith & Nephew, worldwide leaders in the industry.

Total Hip Replacement
Total hip replacement, also called hip arthroplasty (THR) or a hip prosthesis. A hip replacement surgery aims to remove damaged parts of a hip joint and replace them with a special implant. This surgery is usually unavoidable when the hip joint is worn or damaged to the extent that your mobility is significantly limited and you experience constant pain.
Total knee replacement
Total knee replacement, also called knee arthroplasty (TKR) or a knee prosthesis. Knee replacement surgery removes damaged parts of a hip joint and replaces them with special implants. This orthopedic surgery is necessary when the knee joint is worn or damaged to such an extent that your mobility is significantly limited and you experience constant pain.
Waiting times
There are no waiting times. The course of rehabilitation takes place in the same facility – trained specialists will assist you personally.
Length of stay
Generally three weeks (including rehabilitation)
Day 1: hospitalization, evaluation of pre-op checkups
Day 2: surgery
Day 3: and day 4 ICU under the supervision of the Chief orthopaedist
Followed by 5 days under the supervision of an orthopaedist
Followed by a rehabilitation stay (14 days minimum)
