Breast augmentation, also known as augmentation mammoplasty, is a surgical procedure aimed at enhancing the size and shape of a woman’s breasts. This is typically achieved through the insertion of implants either behind the breast tissue or beneath the chest muscle. The breast enlargement procedure usually involves making incisions in discreet locations—such as under the breast, around the nipple, or under the arm—to minimize visible scarring. Through these incisions, the plastic surgeon places the breast implants, which can be customized in terms of size, shape, and texture based on the patient’s desires and anatomical considerations.

What to expect?

Inpatient: 1 night
Anaesthesia: general
Outpatient: 3 days
Stitches: dissolvable (or non-absorbent to be removed after 20 days)
Compression underwear (bra): 4 weeks after the procedure
Light work: 7 days
Full activity: in 4 weeks
