Still, there are some basic tricks that can help you on your way to thighs you are happy with.
1. Limit salt intake
The more salt you take, the less permeable the body cells are which leads to water retention. Reducing the salt thus prevents it.
2. Add electrolytes
No, we are not going to undertake chemical analyses. It is just a common name for minerals such as magnesium, calcium and potassium. What is their role in achieving weight loss? They maintain the balance of fluids in the body and thus help to avoid water retention.
3. Reduce the intake of carbohydrates
This old known rule is not a cliché – carbohydrates are converted into glycogen in the body, and it uncomfortably (along with water) settles in your liver and muscles.
Simple advice but it works. When performing thigh exercises, be sure to alternate the series to engage different parts as well – front thighs, back thighs, and of course, the tricky parts such as inner thighs. And of course, repetition is the mother… of success. Take 3-4 series doing 8-12 repetitions.
5. Do not omit cardio
And while you’re at it – we remind you that fats burn up from a certain heart rate (which is individual). So if you can, jog in the park, or do other cardio activities.
6. Add fiber and proteins to your diet
Both of these ingredients play a vital role in weight loss – they are reducing fat (due to fiber) and converting it into muscle (proteins). Where to find them? The fibers are mainly present in vegetables, fruits and whole grains, the proteins in meat (especially lean).
