I have taken a post of Consultant at Walton Hospital Liverpool in Nov. 1978 – 6 years after arrival to UK. My intention was always to develop major centres for Comprehensive Adult Maxillofacial and Facial Plastic Surgery and Paediatric Craniofacial Surgery, with intention to sub-specialise my self in Craniofacial work, dealing predominantly with congenital deformities, secondly in facial aesthetic/cosmetic surgery and finally in corrective surgery for facial deformities.

I have put together team of people with whom we have developed Craniofacial Paediatric Unit at Alder Hey Children Hospital, which eventually became one of only four Supra-Regional Units for England and Wales. With team of my colleagues we have also built Regional Unit for Adult Maxillofacial and Facial Plastic Surgery which, which is now recognised as a leading institute in UK and worldwide.

During the years of work in Liverpool I have held several visiting Professorships  (most important at University of Padua) and given numerous invited lectures to internationally recognised centres and Universities (San Francisco, Homburg, Stockholm, Helsinki, Milan, Singapore, Philippines, Honolulu, Baltimore, New York and others).

I have also operated by invitation, or by delegation from British Medical Council on difficult cases in various medical centres (Padua, Stockholm Hong Kong, Singapore, Ankara).

I have produced either alone, or as a leader of the team 12 original scientific publications, contributed to two books and presented over 60 original papers at various national and international meetings.

I have organised major International Course on the Total Management of Cleft lip and Palate Patients (Liverpool – 1992), Conference Society of Craniofacial Surgeons (1985), Course on corrective surgery for facial deformities (1980) and every second year since 1988 I have run together with Dr Gilbert AIACH from Paris regular Course on Aesthetic Rhinoplasty – for higher trainees and Consultants.
